Kevin Marsh Kevin Marsh - Editor of Today
Kevin Marsh was appointed Editor of Today in November 2002. He joined the 91热爆 as a news trainee in 1978. He worked in Belfast and Birmingham before joining The World at One in 1980. After a short spell at ITN, he re-joined the 91热爆 as Deputy Editor of The World at One in 1987. He was then promoted to Editor of PM in August 1989 and moved to edit World at One in 1993. The programmes were brought together under his single editorship in 1996. In 1998, he developed and launched Broadcasting House - the first new News programme on Radio 4 for a decade. In addition to his four regular programmes, he has produced numerous specials for Radio 4 and has won three Sony Awards.

Born in 1954, he was educated at The Grammar School, Doncaster, followed by Christ Church, Oxford. _________________________________
Baroness Murphy Baroness Murphy of Aldgate
Elaine Murphy became a crossbench life peer in May 2004 and takes a special interest in mental health and ageing issues in the Lords. She has been Chairman of North East London Strategic Health Authority since April 2002. She formerly chaired a District Health Authority and before that a Community Services NHS Trust from 1995 to 1999. She worked as a doctor, general manager and academic in the National Health Service for 25 years, most recently as Professor of Psychiatry of Old Age at Guy's (now part of GKT, King's College) and was also Vice-Chair of the Mental Health Act Commission for seven years. She is currently an honorary Visiting Professor at Queen Mary University of London and a Vice-President of the Alzheimer's Society. She is married to a theoretical chemist, grows olives near Lucca and relaxes in Norfolk. _________________________________

Richard Best has been the Director of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust since 1988. His recent and current posts include: Member of the Housing Minister鈥檚 and Member of Local Government Minister鈥檚 Sounding Boards; Chair of the Hull Partnership Liaison Board; Member of the Council for Charitable Support; Council Member of the Royal Society of Arts; Patron of the National Family & Parenting Institute; Member of the Commission on the Future of Birmingham's Council Housing; Member of the Audit Commission's Advisory Board on Housing, Communities and Environment; President of the Continuing Care Conference. _________________________________
Lord May Lord May
Lord May of Oxford OM AC Kt is the President of the Royal Society and holds a professorship jointly in the Department of Zoology, University of Oxford and Imperial College, London. Lord May has won a number of international awards, including the 1996 Crafoord Prize for 鈥減ioneering ecology research in theoretical analysis of the dynamics of populations, communities and ecosystems.鈥 Between 1995 and 2000 he was Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK Government and Head of the Office of Science and Technology. He became a member of the UK House of Lords in 2001 and was appointed to be a member of the Order of Merit in 2002. _________________________________
Lord Hannay Lord Hannay
Lord Hannay worked for the FCO from 1959 to 1995. He was appointed Ambassador to the EC in 1985, Ambassador to the UN and Special Representative for Cyprus in 1996 - a role he continued till 2003. He's an Honorary Fellow New College, Oxford and an Hon DLitt Birmingham University. Lord Hannay was raised to the peerage in 2001. _________________________________
