Mystery Shooting

Your suggestions:

Graham
Prince Philip shot Sophie - I gather he has has many problems with daughters in law

Lynne McVernon
This is a scene from the long running soap, The Windsors, a tale of an everyday immigrant family trying their hardest to remain aloof from their host community: Interior. Cocktail time. A darkened room. A shot rings out. As the screaming begins our eyes become accustomed to the gloom, we see Sophie, Countess of Wessex holding a smoking gun - having just shot herself in the foot.

There are dozens in a similar vein. Several others show obvious affection for Radio 4:

Louise Cotton
Incensed that Sue has been given the coveted lead interview with Stephen Byers on the programme, John draws a pearl-handled revolver from his elegantly cut suit and fires.

Jim Matthews
Obviously, Sue Mcgregor shot James Naughtie, finally driven to the deed by the belief that he had got the time wrong yet again.

Tim Footman
Kate Aldridge and Linda Snell shot each other as the competition for Most Annoying Inhabitant Of Ambridge reached fever pitch.

Some perhaps don't:

Jim Blair
The victim was clearly the tradition of balanced and rational reporting, and the culprit the media, led by yourselves, increasingly resorting to ill-researched hectoring rather than informed robust questioning.

And some give a disturbing insight into some of our listeners' minds:

Ian Witham
Charlotte Green shot Brian Perkins because she is in love with him, but he loves Sue macgregor
