4th August聽2003 Edinburgh Salt Poisoning Case The father of the聽woman found guilty of poisoning a child with salt reveals she's been attacked in prison, plus her husband insists she's innocent. "I have no doubts about my wife's innocence ... I just couldn't believe that that was the verdict the jury was going to come to" - Neil Hamilton It was one of the most striking court cases this year. An Edinburgh woman, Susan Hamilton, was found guilty in June of poisoning a child with salt, causing permanent brain damage. She was sentenced to four years in prison. Mrs Hamilton says she's innocent and has lodged an appeal. Her family are supporting her, but they haven't spoken publicly until now.
