°Â±ð»å²Ô±ð²õ»å²¹²âÌý28³Ù³óÌý´³³Ü±ô²âÌý2004 Democratic Party Convention With only a few months to go before the US Presidential elections - the party conferences are in full swing. This years Democratic Convention is held in Boston. Tens of thousands of democrat supporters are in Boston to cheer their leader, Senator John Kerry and his new running mate, Senator John Edwards. The convention will combine a mix of elder democratic statesmen, such as President Clinton and President Carter, as well as celebrity supporter, like Hilary Clinton and Ron Reagan, son of President Reagan. Today presenter, James Naughtie joined the maddening Boston crowd to see if the new leaders were going down a storm with their supporters ---------------- Whilst President Bush lay low, the Democratic Party convention has been in full swing, with keynote speakers including President Clinton and John Kerry’s wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry. Whilst Teresa Kerry urged Democratic delegates to rally behind her husband saying, he could ‘return America to its moral bearings’, President Clinton spoke about his military background. Both speakers spoke passionately about how he would lead America and how the war in Iraq was wrong. President Clinton said of President Bush, ‘You can't be a war president one day and claim to be a peace president the next.’ The keynote speaker on Wednesday night was Vice Presidential Candidate John Edwards and the on the final night it was Senator John Kerry.
