Results of the Blue Tits and Milk Bottles Survey
Earlier in the series ornithologist Graham Appleton told listeners that the last recorded incident of Blue Tits stealing milk from foil covered bottles was in 2000. He asked listeners to write in with any incidents they had seen since that date. The results were that yes, Blue Tits do still steal milk from bottles, and so do crows, magpies, rooks and even foxes and weasels.

A recipe for making your own fat balls, there are many other recipes available. Mix lard with nut, scraps, porridge oats and dried fruit in a ratio of one part fat to two parts dry food. Pour the mixture into a half coconut while it is still warm, let it cool and then hang it in the garden.
