TOPICS

Asthma and CFC's

My asthma inhaler still uses CFC's as a propellant - what damage am I doing to the Ozone hole?

Julian Mount, Leicestershire

Cholorophyll and creeping thistles

Over the last few years I have noticed more colonies of the creeping thistle with chlorophyll-free shoots, so much so that in this part of East Sussex it is difficult to find patches of the thistle that are wholly green. Can you explain this phenomenon? Is it something that has always occurred in certain areas or something new?

Chris Bindon

, London

Recycling Plastics

Can the team give practical advice, please?

I try to recycle as much plastic as possible, but our local authority only accepts certain types of plastic, as I understand it, PPP, PAL and HDPE.

Things such as cream or yoghurt pots do not fall into these categories. I also understand that it is difficult for water companies to clean up dairy products. So what do I do with these items? Do I wash them before putting them in the dustbin, or put them in the dustbin as they are, where they will contribute more to methane and global warming?

Andrea Polden, Chesham

Increased C02 and plant growth

Is the natural response to increased levels of C02 in the atmosphere more verdant plant growth? If so, aren't their some benefits?

David Williams, Suffolk

Aspen die-back

I listen to 91热爆 Planet here in the US. There is some concern here about the fate of Aspen trees - can you tell us what's happening?

Sharon Mesci, New England
