Taking part in this week's programme:
Professor Yvonne Rydin – London School of Economics
Dr Sue Buckingham – Brunel University
Professor Philip Stott – University of London
This week's subjects:
AIRPORTS VERSUS RAILWAYS
How does the cost of building new airports compare with that of upgrading
railway systems? With the increasing need for security at airports it seems
to me that it will soon be as quick to take the train from Glasgow city
centre as to take the plane from Glasgow airport and get into the centre of
London - especially if the rail lines are upgraded.
LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT
Why are there fewer light rail schemes in the UK than in Europe?
Noel Bristow, a director of Mott MacDonald’s Transportation Unit
