Intimate theatre venue, some concerts are sitting, some dancing (M McClure)
Small and friendly, great programme (Pat Fleming)
Excellent friendly atmosphere. Great informal entertainment provided in the bar by local artistes 'Anna Searle and The Name Drops'. Even though these guys are completely tone deaf and can't read a note of music, they still manage to get everybody tapping their fingers and toes by the end of the evening. Priceless! (David Oak)

Torquay, part of Torbay (which includes Paignton and Brixham). 2nd largest centre of population west of a line drawn between Bristol and Bournmouth. |

None. No jazz, no world music, very limited classical occasionally at Exeter 30 miles away. |

No atmosphere. No music. No theatre. The expression 'cultural desert' might have been invented for Torbay. HELP! We have venues, population (125000) ie bigger than Bath or Exeter - what we don't have is visits from jazz or world music artists. (David Ward)

Newly formed modern jazz collective started this year - not a banjo in sight! Every Wednesday evening. Becoming a watering hole for local musicians. Free and easy nights for impromptu jamming plus regular quality booked acts. Admission free, atmosphere fine when busy. (Ian Roberts)
