Just find a translation from Spanish to English and you will realize how rich the song becomes being sung in Spanish.
Athena , California This song is perfection-every note and every word. The California scene of the time, the materialism, the drugs, the Spanish Mission-style buildings ("..the mission bell.."),and the sea as a background, all that the Eagles were living at the time, make the lyrics a thinly disguised allegory. I can't get tired of very attentively listening to it, savoring each chord, looking at "Hell freezes over" or just headphones.
