Is Freebird the ultimate rock anthem? Do you think it contains the greatest guitar solo ever recorded? Alternatively, do you have a soft spot for another Skynyrd classic - Tuesday's Gone, Sweet 91热爆 Alabama, Saturday Night Special?听

Stuart, West Midlands Without doubt 'Freebird' is the ultimate rock anthem. Another favourite of mine is 'Coming 91热爆'a song that often gets overlooked.
It's sad that we never got to hear much of what Steve Gaines had to offer.
Rickmansworth I saw the "Original" band perform at Knebworth some 30 years ago and they stole the show. What I'd like to know is where I can get hold of footage of the Knebworth show - Freebird the Movie omits the Knebworth performance of Freebird. When the 91热爆 showed "That Was Whistle Test That Was" it was said the Knebworth clip was the most requested ever, then didn't even play it. Absurd!
Dee/Brighton Oh, how many years have I loved this for? It never ages, never dulls. And the best ever show on the Old Grey Whistle Test....
Sam Watch the footage from the "Old Grey Whistle Test" - It blows me away every time - the guitar solo is just incredible
Iain Monk/Edinburgh Lynyrd Skynyrd are an incredible band - great lyrics and as a live act, peerless.
Ned Fitzgerald wrentham Mass. Us Lynyrd Skynyrd are and allways will be my favorite band. And I am only 14 years old. The freebird solo, without a shadow of a dought contains the greatest guitar solo of all time. The solo being written and preformed by the late Allen Collins on his gibson firebird. Ronnie Van Zant also shines (as he always does) on this recording. With the beautiful slide guitar by Gary Rossington. This is however not my favorite Skynyrd sond witch is simple man, but it is a very close second. One of the greatest songs ever by the greatest band ever.
Charlie P/Barwell |I've seen this song done live by Lynyrd Skynyrd a few years ago. You know a good band and track when even though you have heard it countless times it is still fantastic. The newer band members do the track justice. They out played Deep Purple (who are also awesome) that night.
Nathanael D. OH I have spent many weeks working on learning the insane 5 minute guitar solo ( played with 2 guitars) of this awesome song. I am happy with my progress so far and hope to play it in front of an audiance some day with some other people. I know I'll never try anything on the guitar that will give me such a challenge as Skynyrd's song that contains the best guitar work ever recorded.
reed; oakwood Freebird is the best song ever! it is definatley the ultimate rock song. it has the greatest guitar of any song ever recorded!
Bruce/ Retford This is one of the best all time classic tracks and I would like to know why it's not played as often as it should be......
Skeletor, London Free Bird is the best Skynyrd song ever!
sharon/bristol All you have to say is.......'Listen to the guitars'
Don Conacher Sheffield Absolute Classic!
Maureen Isle of Wight No rock disco of the 70's was complete without the inclusion of this number.
eileen murphy Love it
Want this song played at my funeral, this is the tune that will see me out.
apurva one of the best guitar solos ever done on this planet..
freebird is a classic !!!
Jeremy Thompson Free Bird is a great song but it comes a distant second to Sweet 91热爆 Alabama, which is the anthem for all Southern Rock.
MJR Much better is the live version - (e.g Knebworth clip) where the organ is replaced by piano.
And especially for Ray, "How about you"
