Chris Edinburgh Jame Taylor is great, but Blood Sweat and Tears did a good version of this song also.
Pete Fenelon, York I much prefer the Clive James/Pete Atkin parody of Taylor - "Sheer Quivering Genius".
Sefton Oxford This is an incredible song! Interestingly the above story for the song is pure speculation as Taylor himself has never spoken of the meaning behind it although the above version of events does indeed fit the best.
TJ , Derbyshire A song written 35 years ago still rings with truth. A voice that carries sorrow and yet breathes hope. The history of battle with drug addiction etc and yet still he carries on. There are very few songs that I would say are 'beautiful' but I believe this song is beautiful. The agony of "Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone . . . " never fails to move me.
K.E. West, Bedfordshire A truly beautiful song.
rob wallser plymouth one man and his guitar expressing the sound of love and lonliness,a beatiful melody and a great arrangement ,almost perfect in its delivery
Shawn Cullen Amazing song by an amazing performer.
