Irini’s life has been a whirlwind since she won in 2019. Her book, Under The Olive Tree (Recipes from my Greek Kitchen) was published in July 2020, and her includes more than 200 recipes.
Growing up on the island of Crete, Irini was surrounded by olive trees, but it was after winning MasterChef that she took a closer look at extra virgin olive oil, and fell in love with its qualities as a cooking medium. In 2020, Irini trained as an olive sommelier, and in May 2023 as a honey sommelier.
MasterChef was more than a journey in cooking for Irini, and she has subsequently developed and delivered keynote speeches to many women’s groups, aiming to inspire and motivate women to be happy, accept praise and to enjoy the gifts they have.
Irini is very busy working in the UK and abroad as a guest chef, recipe developer, judge for the Guild of Fine Food, ambassador of Women In The Food Industry and Slow Food UK, instructor and also runs culinary retreats in Crete and Cumbria.
In 2022, Irini launched a series of Greek recipe boxes with chef-led company The Cookaway and launched her Greek Cuisine course on e-learning platform Scoolinary.
