The Women's Caucus is in a buoyant mood and agrees not to confront Phyllis Schlafly's Stop the ERA campaign head on, fearing that it would simply feed their publicity machine. Betty Friedan has other ideas and accepts an invitation to debate Schlafly at the University of Illinois.
