Shouting at your child puts them more at risk of problems in later life and could lead them to self-harm, drug use and time in jail, according to new research by child abuse psychologists. The experts say that talking harshly to children should be recognised as a form of abuse, with around 40 per cent of children in the UK estimated to face verbal attacks from parents.
