Why have the Tower of London poppies struck such a chord?

The Tower of London poppies: why have they struck a chord with so many? There are just over 880,000 ceramic poppies on display, one for each of the Commonwealth soldiers who died in the First World War. Not everyone is a fan, the Guardian art critic, Jonathan Jones, has called it a "prettified and toothless war memorial", but more than 4 million people have been to see them. What does the display mean to you? Clare McDonnell takes your calls.
