Young onset dementia
Rare access to a day support service for people with young onset dementia. Victoria hears powerful accounts, including two sons who have cared for their dad for seven years.
The programme comes live from a day support service for people with young onset dementia in Manchester. There are around sixty four thousand people in the UK living with dementia in their early sixties, fifties, fourties and even thirties. Victoria speaks to patients and families who are benefiting from the centre. She also hears from two brothers who have looked after their father for the past seven years after he was diagnosed with dementia, aged 56. Victoria also speaks live to the country's first national clinical director for dementia in the NHS, Professor Alistair Burns.
