Increase for Radio Scotland audience

Latest RAJAR (Radio Joint Audience Research Ltd) figures out today have confirmed that 91Èȱ¬ Radio Scotland is showing increases in all three of the main indicators (reach, hours and share) both year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter.

Jeff Zycinski, Head of 91Èȱ¬ Radio Scotland, said today: "These figures are positive news for all of us at 91Èȱ¬ Radio Scotland. I've no doubt our response to the bad weather in November and December encouraged more listeners to tune in. I also believe we're shaping a schedule which responds to the audience appetite for information presented by popular personalities such as Gary Robertson, Kaye Adams, Fred MacAulay and John Beattie. As ever we're also drawing big numbers at the weekend thanks to the continued success of Sportsound and Off The Ball. "

The latest RAJAR figures show a weekly reach of 931,000 (21.4 per cent), a share of 8.4 per cent and 7.28 hours per listener per week.

The RAJAR survey gives us a weekly average for the last six months of 2010 and it includes the tail-end of the World Cup right through to those periods of bad weather in November and December.

91Èȱ¬ Radio Scotland programmes can be heard on listen again for seven days on the 91Èȱ¬ iPlayer on bbc.co.uk/radioscotland.
