Five Academy Award nominations for 91Èȱ¬ Films

Carey Mulligan's breakout performance in Lone Scherfig's An Education has been recognised by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today with an additional nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role, to complement her existing BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations.

This joins the film's other two nominations for Best Picture (Finola Dwyer, Amanda Posey, Producers) and Best Adapted Screenplay (Nick Hornby).

Armando Iannucci's hit political satire In The Loop has received a nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay (Jesse Armstrong, Simon Blackwell, Armando Iannucci and Tony Roche), and Bright Star's Janet Patterson was nominated for Costume Design.

91Èȱ¬ Films has enjoyed a total of five Academy Award nominations this year.

In addition, 91Èȱ¬ One's commission of the Wallace and Gromit short, A Matter Of Loaf And Death, was also the recipient of a nomination today in the Short Film (Animated) category.
