91Èȱ¬ Arabic Sports bulletins to air on Egypt Radio

91Èȱ¬ Arabic announces an agreement that will see its Arabic Sports Bulletin programme broadcast twice daily on Egypt Radio's Youth and Sports channel.

The deal, which is the first of its kind for 91Èȱ¬ Arabic in the country, will place the channel's content on air at 11.55 and 14.00 from Saturdays to Thursdays, and 12.55 and 00.55 (Cairo Time) on Fridays.

Egypt Radio's Youth and Sports channel is available via FM throughout the country.

The Sports Bulletin (Anashra Ariyadia) programmes are broadcast every day from 91Èȱ¬ Arabic, covering the main sport events from across the globe, including Europe and the Arab world.

Listeners hear the latest news about their favourite sports and can follow the fortunes of the Arab footballers playing in the top European football leagues. Major tournaments and events such as the African Cup of Nations and the World Cup also receive extensive coverage in the bulletins.

Head of Egypt Radio, Intisar Shalabi, says: "The 91Èȱ¬'s sports programming is among the world's best, with coverage of all the major events and competitions around the globe.

"As an Arabic-language broadcaster, 91Èȱ¬ Arabic also has a perspective on the world of sport that is perfectly pitched for our listeners. These daily sports bulletins should prove very popular."

Head of Business Development, 91Èȱ¬ World Service Africa and Middle East Region, Simon Kendall, adds: "Serving audiences via FM is a key objective for us as a broadcaster. This new agreement with Egypt Radio's Youth and Sports channel will help 91Èȱ¬ Arabic's excellent sports coverage reach a new and important group of listeners in Egypt."
