Radio 2 presents a glittering array of live music this autumn

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Bon Jovi, Michael Bublé and Spandau Ballet are just some of the top artists in a stellar autumn line-up of live music on 91Èȱ¬ Radio 2.

Dame Shirley Bassey and Smokey Robinson headline the Radio 2 events at the 91Èȱ¬ Electric Proms at the Camden Roundhouse on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October respectively, and Oscar Award-winning and world famous lyricist Don Black will be joining Radio 2's Great British Songbook for a special songwriting Masterclass on Friday 23 October.

Radio 2 brings Stereophonics, Jamie Cullum and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa to the stage as part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of the 91Èȱ¬ Maida Vale Studios on 30 October. These events will broadcast live on Radio 2.

Jeff Smith, Head of Music 91Èȱ¬ Radio 2, says: "Once again Radio 2 offers listeners an outstanding and distinctive live music line-up featuring some huge names across the genres. Bringing live music to the Radio 2 audience is our passion and we're delighted to be able to deliver some really special performances."

The network's flagship brand of exclusive concerts, Radio 2 Live, presents Canadian singer Michael Bublé on 21 October, legendary rockers Bon Jovi on 3 November and Eighties icons Spandau Ballet on 17 November – all performing at the Radio Theatre in Broadcasting House.

Information on how to get free tickets to these events will be released on air on 91Èȱ¬ Radio 2 and at bbc.co.uk/radio2.

Friday Night Is Music Night is packed full of gems this autumn including Sister Act's Patina Miller on 20 November. Former EastEnder and West End stage regular Nigel Harman, Ruthie Henshall and, fresh from his success at the MGM Prom, Curtis Stigers, celebrate the work of Johnny Mercer, the four-time Oscar-winning American singer/songwriter, on 13 November live from the Mermaid Theatre. Mercer sang Baby It's Cold Outside with Margaret Whiting, and wrote the timeless lyrics to Moon River for Breakfast At Tiffany's and In The Cool, Cool, Cool Of The Evening, sung by Bing Crosby, Dean Martin and Frankie Laine.

On 7 November, listeners can enjoy Cliff Richard And The Shadows for the last time as they play Wembley Arena as part of their farewell tour, to be recorded on 23 October.

Listeners will be able to watch Dame Kiri Te Kanawa's exclusive performance with the 91Èȱ¬ Symphony Orchestra for Friday Night Is Music Night online at bbc.co.uk/radio2 and also on television via the Red Button from 31 October for seven days.

The performances from Chris Rea, Bon Jovi, Spandau Ballet and the Electric Prom Great British Songbook song-writing Masterclass will be available to view on the Radio 2 website.

The Dame Shirley Bassey and Smokey Robinson performances will be available to view via the Red Button.

Dates and further details will be announced via bbc.co.uk/radio2.

Radio 2 has a long tradition of creating great live music events. This year has already seen U2 perform live on top of Broadcasting House, Radio 2 Live at the Blackpool Illuminations, which featured performers including Mika, Daniel Merriweather and Madness, and a show-stopping Friday Night Is Music Night with performances from Paloma Faith and Tony Christie.
