91Èȱ¬ Surrey 104 & 104.6FM will once again be taking centre stage at this year's Edenbridge and Oxted Show on Sunday 30 and Monday 31 August 2009.
The radio station will be broadcasting live from the showground on both days, with the chance to put a name to many of the voices you hear each day, including Mark Carter and Ben Kerrigan.
Visitors can find the station at Stand RP268.
This year, 91Èȱ¬ Surrey is lending its support to a new initiative by St Catherine's Hospice, a charity dedicated to providing specialised end-of-life care and support to local people, their families, friends and carers.
St Catherine's is asking show-goers to join in an old treasure hunt – donating their unwanted or broken items of jewellery for recycling to help raise funds for the charity.
Nothing will be wasted – costume jewellery will be sold in St Catherine Hospice shops, broken beads can be recycled to create new jewellery and an odd earring or broken chain could be valued as scrap.
Speaking ahead of the event, 91Èȱ¬ Surrey presenter and Programmes Editor, Mark Carter, said: "We're really thrilled to be invited along once again to be the official radio partner of the Edenbridge and Oxted Show. Everyone's really looking forward to meeting our Surrey listeners face to face.
"I'm also delighted we are able to help the hospice. We've followed this as a story on my show in recent months and I'm hoping everybody will hunt around for those unwanted items of jewellery."
Debbie Plentie, PR & Communications Executive, St Catherine's Hospice, added: "It's brilliant to have 91Èȱ¬ Surrey lending their support to our work.
"We'll have our team at the event to take in all the unwanted jewellery, so please bring what you can – donating unwanted jewellery is a golden opportunity to help St Catherine's!"
Anyone who cannot attend the show but would still like to donate jewellery can send it to 91Èȱ¬ Surrey Appeal, St Catherine's Hospice, FREEPOST CY930, Crawley, RH10 6BR or take it to any of St Catherine's charity shops.
