Radio Cambridgeshire gets your heart pumping

After the success of last year's inaugural Great Cambridgeshire Run, 91Èȱ¬ Radio Cambridgeshire and the British Heart Foundation have partnered up again to host the second charity fund-raising run.

The half-marathon run takes place on Sunday 13 September 2009 around the spectacular grounds of Wimpole Hall and entrants are encouraged to start canvassing for sponsorship now.

The run caters for everyone, from those looking for a physical challenge, to the less adventurous leisure runner and to those who are just looking for something to kick-start a healthier way of life.

This run is for everyone so stop slouching on the sofa and get stretching!

Radio Cambridgeshire's Trustline raises thousands of pounds for charities and groups run by volunteers and aims to ensure all the money raised stays within the region.

The British Heart Foundation is the nation's heart charity dedicated to saving lives through pioneering research, campaigning for change and by providing vital information. It relies on donations of time and money to continue its life saving work and to beat heart disease.

Runners can choose to run a half-marathon (13.1 miles), jog along on the 5.25 mile course or saunter and chat on the mile-long course.

If a walk is more your style then you, friends and family can join the more leisurely pace on the sponsored walk (9.5 miles).

With great countryside, glorious surroundings and all in aid of charity, taking part will not only keep the British Heart Foundation pumping, it can keep you fit too.

Announcing the Great Cambridgeshire Run during July allows enough time to get sponsorship rolling in and, for those looking for a new challenge, the chance to start training for the big race.

Radio Cambridgeshire will be offering support and advice to competitors in the run up to this special event.
