91Èȱ¬ Radio Lincolnshire is urging listeners to get up with the lark as it holds a Discover Nature weekend to coincide with International Dawn Chorus Day.
From 1 to 4 May 2009, members of the public are invited to bring along caravans, motor-homes or tents and camp out for three nights at South Cliff Farm near Lincoln.
The weekend will incorporate a host of activities for young and old, including nature photography and gardening workshops, nature trails, a mini-beast safari for children and a dawn chorus walk on Sunday 3 May – International Dawn Chorus Day.
This year's event is expanding on the success of last year's Dawn Chorus Day when visitors spent a night at South Cliff Farm before heading out for the early morning spectacle. Their efforts were rewarded with more than 20 different kinds of birdsong as the spectacle began.
Radio Lincolnshire will be broadcasting a number of radio shows from the farm over the weekend. The station regrets that day passes are not available but to book your weekend ticket please call 01522 511411 or visit bbc.co.uk/lincolnshire and complete the online booking form. Pitches are charged at £26 for the entire weekend, or £35 with electrical hook-up. Places are limited.
