91Èȱ¬ Vision thrives across channels and on-demand


Jana Bennett, Director, 91Èȱ¬ Vision, announced today that the 91Èȱ¬ television portfolio was set to deliver a strong performance for 2008, complemented by a highly successful first year for 91Èȱ¬ iPlayer.

Figures released (to the end of November 2008) show that overall 91Èȱ¬ TV reach remains solid at 85% (47.9 million viewers).

Ìý

In peak time share is up year on year from 35.1% to 35.3%, with overall share steady at 33.5%.

In terms of individual channel performance the picture is equally healthy:

Ìý

91Èȱ¬ One's share in peak time has grown (23.7% to 23.9%). 91Èȱ¬ One is the only terrestrial channel to grow share in peak. Overall reach (77.6%) and share (21.8%) are both stable.

Ìý

91Èȱ¬ Two's reach remains steady atÌý57.7% with share standing at 7.8%. The channel has seen its peaktime reach grow by 3% (up to 46.4% in 2008 from 45.1% last year), notably amongst the 25 to 44-year-olds (up 5%), which has helped broaden 91Èȱ¬ Two's reach profile.

91Èȱ¬ Three has increased both share and reach following a revamp in February this year. Share is up by 14% year on year to 3.9%. 91Èȱ¬ Three now reachesÌýover a third of its target audience of 16 to 34-year-oldsÌýin the hours it broadcasts (7.00pm-4.00am) in digital homes – 33.6% reach up from 31.3% this time last year.

91Èȱ¬ Four increasedÌýboth reach (up from 12.7% to 13.6%) and share (fromÌý0.8 to 1.0%) during its hours of broadcasting (7.00pm-4.00am).

C91Èȱ¬ and CBeebies – CBeebies remains the most watched channel for the under-sixes with a reach this year of 47.7% and a 15.5% share (among the target audience, housewives with children aged 0-3 and 4 to 6-year-olds in digital homes from 6.00am-7.00pm).

C91Èȱ¬, this year's BAFTA kids channel of the year, remains the most watched children's channel in digital homes reaching almost a third of 6 to 12-year-olds. C91Èȱ¬'s reach isÌý32.6%Ìýand shareÌý9.0% (this is amongst 6 to 12-year-olds in digital homes, 7.00am-7.00pm).

91Èȱ¬ iPlayer – total requests for 91Èȱ¬ iPlayer views online are 237 million (to the end of November) with a further 61 million TV requests to view via Virgin Media (to the end of October).

Last month, there were over 35 million requests to view online and, on average, over a million requests to view each day during the month.
