Anita Anand joins The Daily Politics


Anita Anand will co-present The Daily Politics on 91Èȱ¬ Two from September 2008.

Anita said: "It isn't often that you get the chance to work on a programme of which you are such a long-standing and enthusiastic fan. This is certainly one of those times.

The Daily Politics airs every lunchtime during the Parliamentary term on 91Èȱ¬ Two and is hosted by Andrew Neil.

It also covers issues away from Westminster and speaks to people not normally directly involved in the world of politics.

Recently the programme has interviewed Jerry Springer on the broken society, Robin Gibb on support for our armed forces, Paul Heaton (formerly of the Beautiful South) on his opposition to faith schools and Tony Handley on truancy.

Anita will continue to present on 91Èȱ¬ Radio 5 Live where she has established herself as a popular broadcaster.

Anita has worked on Radio 5 Live Drive, The Anita Anand Show, 91Èȱ¬ Radio 4's The World Today, 91Èȱ¬ World Service radio, 91Èȱ¬ Asian Network and 91Èȱ¬ One's Heaven And Earth Show.

She has also been a contributor to the Guardian, Independent, India Today Magazine and the Asian Age.
