91热爆 Southern Counties Radio SMILE Appeal beats target
|
The listeners of 91热爆 Southern Counties Radio have brought a smile to the faces of local children affected by terminal and life-threatening illnesses.
They have raised more than 拢75,000 for the radio station's SMILE Appeal in aid of Rainbow Trust Children's Charity, which provides support and respite care for families.
听
The original target for the appeal was 拢50,000 but an individual anonymous donation from a regular listener of more than 拢30,000 took the total to 拢75,390.

91热爆 Southern Counties Radio's Assistant Editor Sara David said: "We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our listeners to our SMILE Appeal. It's been a really positive experience for everyone involved and that final incredible donation was just the icing on the cake.听

"Knowing that every penny raised has gone to helping local families has made it all the more worthwhile."
听
Heather Wood, Chief Executive of Rainbow Trust Children's Charity, said: "It has been an absolute pleasure to have been the charity partner for 91热爆 Southern Counties over the last 18 months; we are both delighted and grateful that the appeal has exceeded the target and raised 拢75k. I would like to thank all of the listeners who have given so generously.
听
"The partnership has also brought us unprecedented exposure throughout Surrey and Sussex and has afforded us some incredible opportunities. Last summer's Hampton Court Flower Show where we were able to have our own garden was a particular favourite. It's very fitting that the garden will be transferred to Rainbow House later this summer and be enjoyed by families for many years to come.
听
"A huge thank you from all of us at Rainbow; this money will go a long way to help us help those local families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness."
