One of the most talented violinists of his generation, Christian will also perform a special chamber recital on Friday 20 June with pianist Lars Vogt.
Ìý
Also on Friday 20 June, guitarist Ian Watt and bassoonist Karen Geoghegan – the two young Scottish finalists from 91Èȱ¬ Two's popular Classical Star series – step out in front of the orchestra to play exclusively for 91Èȱ¬ Radio Scotland.
Ìý
Ian and Karen will play solo items, as well as their signature works, Rodrigo's Concierto d'Aranjuez and Elgar's Romance for Bassoon and Orchestra.
Ìý
This concert also features a solo performance by 18-year-old flautist David Smith from Edinburgh (a finalist in the 91Èȱ¬ Young Musician of the Year 2008) and features the orchestra in some of the most enduring classical works of all time, including Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man.

Ìý
Players and singers of any standard, and any age, have an exclusive opportunity to join the full orchestra and members of the 91Èȱ¬ Singers for a morning of creative music making, led by composer Tim Steiner.
Ìý
On Saturday evening in a complete change of musical direction, Christian Tetzlaff and the 91Èȱ¬ SSO's leader Elizabeth Layton perform exciting new contemporary works for violin and orchestra, including a spectacular concerto by Oliver Knussen and the UK Premiere of a concerto from German composer Jörg Widmann.
Ìý
