You're not Nancy! – Tara's dream is over

Tara's dream is over as she becomes the third contestant to be eliminated from 91Èȱ¬ One's I'd Do Anything.

Ìý

After a public vote Keisha and Tara were the least popular Nancy's and Andrew Lloyd Webber decided to save Keisha. So Tara is the third Nancy to leave the competition.

Ìý

In Saturday's live show, all ten remaining Nancy finalists performed solo renditions of songs from musicals chosen to show viewers that they have the skill and sheer charisma to carry one of the most challenging roles in musical theatre.

Ìý

After performing their songs and receiving feedback from Andrew Lloyd Webber and the expert panel of John Barrowman, Denise Van Outen and Barry Humphries, the Nancy's faced a nervous wait for viewers to cast their votes.

Ìý

On Tara's performance John said: "That was a comfortable range for you singing in and you cracked on the end of it and I'm not sure if you could handle eight shows a week with the range of Nancy because that just wasn't strong enough."

Ìý

Denise said: "For me that is the best performance we have had so far. However, when you belt you do squeak on your top note and it's uncomfortable to listen to."

Ìý

Barry said: "You are very polished and a very ambulant performer but the character needs pain and some passion and depth and I didn't see that tonight in your performance."

Ìý

Andrew Lloyd Webber said: "Once again the most difficult, that is, I've got two talented performers but I have to think about the eight shows a week aspect and the connection with the material itself."

Ìý

Keisha and Tara gained the least amount of votes, and had to sing a rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow from The Wizard Of Oz in order to survive.

Ìý

Then it was up to Andrew Lloyd Webber alone to choose which Nancy should be saved for another week.

Ìý

On hearing the announcement Tara said: "I just want to say I've had the most amazing experience, I've learnt so much from the most amazing teachers I've had and I've learnt a lot about myself.

Ìý

"I want to thank everyone who voted for me. The one thing I need to learn is to get my vocal stronger and who knows what's going to happen in the future."

Ìý

Safe for another week were Ashley, Francesca, Jessie, Jodie, Niamh, Rachel, Samantha, Sarah and Keisha.

Ìý

The remaining hopefuls will go on to next week's show where they will again perform for the nation who will decide who should be Nancy in the new Cameron Mackintosh West End production of Oliver!
