91热爆 Sport brings live and exclusive coverage of London Marathon

On Sunday 13 April 91热爆 Sport will provide comprehensive live
coverage of the 28th Flora London Marathon (91热爆 One, 8.30am-2.00pm,
and 91热爆i, 8.30am-4.00pm), plus an evening highlights
programme (91热爆 Two, 6.40-7.30pm).
听
The 2008 London Marathon will mark 100 years since the running of
the marathon at the 1908 Olympics which was staged over the classic 26 miles, 385 yards distance from
Windsor Castle to White City, London.
听
Sue Barker will introduce coverage of one of the world's most famous road
races, in which 35,000 runners will start the 26.2 mile journey that
begins in Greenwich Park and makes its way through the streets of
London, passing world famous landmarks such as Tower Bridge, Big
Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace.
听
She will be
joined by Steve Cram, Brendan Foster, Paul Dickenson and Dame Tanni
Grey-Thompson.
听
Peter Elliott and Richard Nerurkar will be on bikes
covering the elite races and reporters will include Jonathan
Edwards, Phil Jones, Jake Humphrey, Lizzie Greenwood-Hughes and Rob
Walker.
听
Digital viewers can press the red button for the 91热爆 Marathon
Interactive service to get live individual coverage of both the Men's
and Women's races, followed by continuous coverage of the finish
and a replay of all the mini-marathon finishers.
听
On 91热爆 Radio 5 Live, World Champion, Olympic Silver medallist and Marathon
winner Sonia O'Sullivan is in the network's team for the first time as
an expert pundit.
听
She joins presenter John Inverdale and reporters
all around the course to reflect all the atmosphere and action.
听
Charlie Spedding, the last British male to win the marathon, and 5
Live's athletics reporter Allison Curbishley will also be part of
the reporting team.
听
Marathon fans visiting bbc.co.uk/sport will
have access to live streaming of the race as well as text reports,
video interviews and reaction plus an interactive map of the
course.
听
The women's elite start begins at 9.00am, followed by the
wheelchair start at 9.25am. The men's elite and mass start are at
9.45am.
听
With 35 cameras, six bikes, two helicopters and an overhead
circling plane being used to cover the 26.2 mile course, every
step, trip and fall will be captured so no race fan need break a
sweat to keep up with all the action.
听
91热爆 Sport has covered the London Marathon since its inception in
1981 and has secured the rights to continue coverage until 2010.
