Two brand new sitcoms from 91热爆 Scotland - Life Of Riley and The Old Guys

Caroline Quentin (Jonathan Creek) is to star in Life Of Riley and Roger Lloyd Pack (Trigger from Only Fools And Horses) will star in The Old Guys - two brand new six-part sitcoms for 91热爆 One from 91热爆 Scotland.

The Executive Producer is 91热爆 Scotland's Head of Comedy and Entertainment, Alan Tyler.

He said today: "I am delighted to announce two brand new six-part sitcoms for 91热爆 One from 91热爆 Scotland. I'm looking forward to working with this calibre of talent both on and off screen. It is very exciting to be producing these in the Pacific Quay studios in Glasgow for both a Scottish and network audience."

91热爆 Controller Comedy Commissioning, Lucy Lumsden, added: "It is great news that these two significant commissions for 91热爆 One are coming from 91热爆 Scotland as part of our ongoing work to develop new audience sitcoms for viewers to enjoy."

Life Of Riley centres around second time round newly-weds Rosie (Caroline Quentin) and Jim, and their dysfunctional family.

The ever-optimistic Rosie suddenly finds herself at the head of a modern-day extended family made up of a complication of children, stepchildren, step siblings and half siblings - with a few ex-partners and in-laws thrown in.

It is written by Georgia Pritchett (Smack The Pony) and will be produced for 91热爆 Scotland by Catherine Bailey Productions Limited (Feel The Force) and will be distributed by Outright Distribution Ltd.

Catherine Bailey added: "We developed the script through 91热爆 Scotland and we are very excited to be filming Life Of Riley at the wonderful new studios at Pacific Quay."

The Old Guys features two elderly delinquents, Tom (Roger Lloyd Pack) and Roy who believe there is life in the old dog yet - but it might just need a kick. That is, of course, when they are not lusting after sexy neighbour Sally.

The series is written by award-winning writers Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong with Simon Blackwell (Peep Show) and will be produced by 91热爆 Scotland.

Both sitcoms were commissioned by Lucy Lumsden (91热爆 Controller of Comedy Commissioning).

The Executive Producers will be Alan Tyler (91热爆 Scotland's Head of Comedy and Entertainment) and Cheryl Taylor (91热爆 Executive Editor, Comedy - Nations and Regions).
