Radio Oxford's Dan and Lou are mid-morning's perfect match this Valentine's Day
91Èȱ¬ Radio Oxford's Danny Cox and Louisa Hannan will launch a brand new mid-morning show this Valentine's Day, 14 February 2008.
Ìý
Daytime With Danny And Lou will offer listeners the chance to hear and discuss the big issues of the moment in a three hour mix of topical chat, advice, information and fun.
Ìý
With a team of resident experts they will also offer advice on issues ranging from how to get the best mortgage deal to how to cook a great family meal in minutes.
Ìý
The new show has been created with help from people across the county, using feedback gathered throughout 2007 and at a specially-organised audience event in December.
Ìý
"Using the feedback means we can be sure that the topics and treatments in the programme fit with what people want at this time of day," explains Danny.
Ìý
"We hope to encourage lots of involvement from listeners, every day you will hear something of use, of interest and that is just great fun."
Ìý
Danny and Lou are already well known to Oxfordshire audiences for their own programmes on 95.2FM, but this is the first time they will have worked so closely together.
Ìý
"The launch date of 14 February, Valentine's Day, was picked partly so we could test out our new partnership from the start," says Lou.
Ìý
"We are going to spend much of the first show talking about love, partnerships and relationships and so we can talk about things like who'll be in charge – of course Danny has been told it's not him!"
Ìý
Listeners will hear some of the popular features Lou has introduced in her Sunday morning show, such as the popular Virtual Car Boot – if you have something cluttering up your house or garage, Danny and Lou will match you with someone who could put it to good use. If you are searching for something, you can use the airwaves to make an appeal for it.
Ìý
Lou added: "The show's going to be just what you get from Daytime TV but with an Oxfordshire flavour and it'll be easier to take with you wherever you are! We'll be giving you advice on everything from your pets to tax and combined with some fun celebrity interviews and great music – we hope it's going to be a winning combination."
