"Britney Spears" and "Tom Jones" are final two "musical superstars" through to The One And Only. live shows

The final two tribute acts through to tonight's first
live show of 91Èȱ¬ One's The One And Only. are Britney Spears and Tom Jones.
Ìý
Tara Stafford Allen has taken a career break from the police to pursue her
dream of singing as The One and Only . American pop princess, while Simon
Abbotts, a full time Tom Jones tribute act, is The One and Only . Welsh
superstar.
Ìý
Joining the ten tribute acts chosen in last week's nail biting Superfan
Sing-offs, Tara and Simon will be singing live in front of a studio
audience of friends and family and
Superfans.
Ìý
Tara will be out to prove that she can do it again when she takes to the
stage hoping to convince viewers that she is every bit her musical
superstar, while Simon will be hoping that it's not unusual for him to win
the viewers' vote when he performs his act.
Ìý
Up for grabs for the ultimate winner is a three month performing contract
in Las Vegas with the renowned Legends in Concert, the world's longest
running tribute show.
Ìý
Host Graham Norton will be on hand to ask expert vocal coaches Carrie and
David Grant what they think of each of the 12 tribute acts'
performances.
Ìý
But it's up to viewers to vote for their favourite act to
keep them in the show.
Ìý
The 12 musical superstars represented in the show are: Elton John,
Frank Sinatra, Lionel Richie, Robbie Williams, Rod Stewart, Tom Jones,
Britney Spears, Cher, Diana Ross, Dusty Springfield, Kylie and Madonna.

Tara Stafford Allen is The One and Only. Britney Spears
Ìý
Tara from Spilsby in Lincolnshire is 29 and has taken a sabbatical from her
job as a policewoman. She is also a part-time Britney Spears tribute act.
Ìý
She has been singing since she was 12 years old, but has only been
performing as Britney since March. She has performed her act at
seaside resorts and weddings during the summer season and feels that with
professional dance training she could take her act all the way.

Before
singing as Britney, she performed as part of an Abba tribute.
Ìý
Although her police colleagues are very supportive of her singing career,
they still joke with her about it and say to prisoners "Britney is locking
you up tonight!"
Ìý
When not performing or working, Tara is a huge animal lover. She is a keen
horse rider and is also a trained riding instructor.
Ìý
She has been with her boyfriend for 18 months; they met at work and he is
also a police officer.
Ìý
Simon Abbotts is The One and Only. Tom Jones
Ìý
Simon from Dudley in the West Midlands is 42 and works as a full-time Tom
Jones tribute act.
He has been singing in various bands for 27 years and has worked as a warm-up artist for comedians in the past.
Ìý
He started performing as Tom when he was working for a telecommunications
company 10 years ago. He was working as a cabaret singer in the evenings
and would incorporate some Tom Jones songs into his act. His audience kept
commenting on how like Tom Jones he was and so he decided to become a
tribute act.
Ìý
Simon started out doing a few gigs where possible, but discovered he could
just about give up the day job and become a Tom Jones tribute full-time. He
currently performs his act two or three times a week in clubs, theatres and
restaurants.
Ìý
Simon is single but is very close to his mum and his sister who have
supported his career as a tribute artist and regularly follow him around
the country to attend his performances.
