91热爆 Two pays tribute to British servicemen and women in groundbreaking documentary

For the first time every British serviceman and woman who died while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan will be remembered in The Fallen, a landmark feature-length film for 91热爆 Two to mark Remembrance Day 2008.

The documentary will air next year in the week of Remembrance Day. Spanning seven years it will tell the story of two wars through the stories of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in unimaginable circumstances.

The documentary brings to life the experiences of these servicemen and women, serving as both a historical document and a compelling memorial to them. Every story is as unique as the person remembered.

The programme covers a vast range of people from all different backgrounds and all parts of the UK who fought for their country.

The three-hour documentary is being produced and directed by acclaimed film-maker Morgan Matthews in conjunction with his production company Minnow Films for 91热爆 Two.

Morgan Matthews says: "The hugely significant motivation for The Fallen is to feature each and every British service person that has died in these two wars.

"Watching the film will create a feeling of having paid one's respects and of acknowledging these individuals' sacrifice. With the chronology of the conflicts providing the narrative it will be an emotional and gripping journey."

Richard Klein, who commissioned the programme, says: "This is an ambitious and important documentary. By creating one filmic tribute for every single person who has lost their life the collective stories will come together to form an incredibly powerful and moving homage to the fallen soldiers."

Notes to Editors

Morgan Matthews' documentaries for the 91热爆 include Care House (2003), Rudegirls (2004) and Quitters (2005). His two-part series for Channel 4's My Crazy Parents (2004) was nominated for an RTS award, and the feature length Taxidermy: Stuff The World (91热爆, 2006) was nominated for both the BAFTA and RTS awards for best single documentary.

In 2005 Morgan directed four films for 91热爆 Two: Blue Suede Jew, Hair Wars, Million Dollar Pigeon and the feature-length Beautiful Young Minds.

Morgan recently set up Minnow films and has just completed Battleship Antarctica (Channel 4) following the 2007 Greenpeace anti-whaling expedition to the Antarctic.
