Graham Norton talks to Letitia Dean and Gabriel Byrne
Former EastEnder turned dancing queen Letitia Dean and Hollywood A-lister Gabriel Byrne join Graham Norton for tonight's (Thursday 18 October) edition of The Graham Norton Show on 91Èȱ¬ Two.
Ìý
Letitia talks about her experience tripping the light fantastic in 91Èȱ¬ One's Strictly Come Dancing:
Ìý
"It's the most terrifying thing I've ever done in my entire life," she says. "Being in the dance-off was a bit hairy, the standard's high this year, especially with the girls. I'm the oldest contestant now ... I miss Stephanie [Beacham], she's such a character, she's awesome." Ìý
And she says she's apprehensive about performing the tango this Saturday: "It's quite passionate, serious, full-on."
Ìý
She also reminisces about her EastEnders career from the age of 15, and won't rule out another return: "I did 11 years straight the first time ... it just got better and better for me ... [go back again?] ... never say never."
Ìý
She reveals that she's an inveterate giggler on set: "Thirty-eight takes is my maximum. The crosser the producer gets, it's red rag to a bull!"
Ìý
And Gabriel Byrne is the same. He recalls that during the famous line-up scene in the acclaimed movie The Usual Suspects: "They couldn't get a take without corpsing, and it showed a sense of camaraderie between the actors ... and Benicio Del Toro farted in the middle of it!"
Ìý
Despite his own illustrious career, he confirms he's still starstruck: "I never quite know what to say to famous people. I got Paul McCartney's autograph for my son – just to be that close to Paul McCartney, you can never get beyond who they are."
Ìý
The Backstreet Boys, confirming their new world tour for 2008, perform their new single Inconsolable live in the studio.
Ìý
The Graham Norton Show is a So Television production for 91Èȱ¬ Two.
