Gerard Depardieu discusses wine and women with Graham Norton
|
Celebrated French actor Gerard Depardieu dispenses Gallic charm, treats the audience to a glass of his
own wine and confides his tastes in wine and women when he appears in tonight's edition of 91Èȱ¬ Two's The Graham Norton Show.
Ìý
Depardieu talks about his youthful stint in jail: "I was young, it
wasn't so hard, not like America, I had a lot of friends in jail, I was a
hooligan."
Ìý
On his favourite kind of woman: "When I was young I was scared
of women ... [now] I have many ideal women ... very pale, a porcelain skin,
tall, wonderful eyes, a wonderful soul ... and no shaving! ... I love it
when women take care of themselves and leave me in peace."
Ìý
His view of
British Prime Minister Tony Blair: "I don't know him very well but I don't agree with what he
did, I'm not a fan."
Ìý
And on his fondness for roast hedgehog: "My father used
to cook hedgehog, a gypsy recipe ... you kill it, boil it, pump it up and
then pluck it, it's very good!"
Ìý
There's more chat from Tori Amos who expresses her sympathy for Britney
Spears' trial by media:
Ìý
"I feel for her because she was so young when
she was made a superstar ... if she survives it'll be stupendous, she'll
give it a good shot ... if the American public are behind her she'll be
ok, but you never know."
Ìý
Tori also performs Bouncing Off Clouds live
in the studio.
Ìý
And Graham checks in with Eurovision hopefuls Scooch on the eve of the
song contest.
Ìý
They confirm they're in buoyant mood: "We've got our fingers
crossed, we think we've got a good chance, we seem to be going down very
well."
