91Èȱ¬'s World Have Your Say in Africa: first four-nation tour
|
For the first time, 91Èȱ¬ World Service is taking its flagship interactive radio and online debate programme, World Have Your Say, to Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda and Kenya.
Ìý
From Monday 14 to Friday 25 May, presenter Ros Atkins will host debates live from these countries, inviting listeners and online users to set the programme's agenda, discuss key issues in the news and share their views with a worldwide audience.Ìý
Ìý
World Have Your Say will be broadcast from a number of locations including a university campus and cultural centres, and there will be a special programme from a listener's house.
Ìý
Ros Atkins says:Ìý"Nothing makes World Have Your Say tick like the contributions of our African audience.
Ìý
"Their passion for the programme and their willingness to pick up their phones to call and text us provide us, with opinions and experiences that the show would be lost without.
Ìý
"We have been to many countries since the programme began in 2005, but we've never been to West or East Africa.
Ìý
"Considering the number of text messages we get each day from Ghanaians, Kenyans, Nigerians and Ugandans, all of us at World Have Your Say are excited to take the show to their countries, to meet some of our listeners in person, and to hear what they would like to talk to the world about.
Ìý
"I can't wait."
Ìý
In two countries, the 91Èȱ¬ has joined forces with its re-broadcasting partner radio stations.
Ìý
In Ghana, World Have Your Say will team up with Space FM, while in Uganda the programme will go on air in collaboration with another partner station, Radio One.
