91Èȱ¬ appoints Employee Relations & People Strategy Director

The 91Èȱ¬ has appointed Mike Gooddie as its Employee Relations and People Strategy Director.

He will be the 91Èȱ¬'s chief negotiator with the unions at a corporate level and will be responsible for HR Policies across the Corporation. He will take up his new post at the beginning of March.

Mike Gooddie succeeds Gillian Alford who is to leave the 91Èȱ¬ after nine years to join Royal Mail Letters as Director of Industrial Relations.

Announcing the appointment, Stephen Kelly, Director, 91Èȱ¬ People, said: "The 91Èȱ¬ faces many significant challenges as it seeks to deliver programmes and services to audiences in many different ways in the digital age.

Mike Gooddie has lived in Yorkshire for the last eight years and is a graduate of the University of Leicester.
Ìý
He began his career in 1985 as a graduate trainee at Shell, working in a number of Shell companies including Shell Australia.
Ìý
He joined British Airways in 1995 as a Senior HR consultant and in 1998 was appointed to his most recent post as HR Director at Great North Eastern Railways.
Ìý
A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), he is also a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts.

He has been a Non-Executive of the Manchester Airports Group and is a Trustee of the York Archaeological Trust.
