Graham Norton talks sex and celebrity with Kim Cattrall and Elijah Wood
Graham Norton kicks off the first
13-week run of his brand-new prime-time series tonight on 91Èȱ¬ Two when he
trades quips with guests, Sex and the City's Kim Cattrall and The Lord of the
Rings star Elijah Wood.
Ìý
Kim reveals on The Graham Norton Show that she is still mistaken for her alter ego, iconic TV creation
Samantha.
Ìý
"I'm approached by people who think they've already slept with me;
because the series was about sexuality, they feel they can picture it in their
mind," she says.
Ìý
"[During the making of] the last series I wasn't married, it was
terrifying out there; men were frightened of me."
Ìý
She also talks about press interest in the possibility that she and her three
co-stars will be reunited for Sex and the City - the movie.
Ìý
"I've no idea,
nothing has happened, we're all still in a holding pattern about it [but] it's
nice to be missed. It's wonderful to find an alter ego. I love Samantha, I'll
never let her go."
Ìý
Ex-child star Elijah Wood discusses the pressures of celebrity life in relation
to current speculation about Britney Spears.
Ìý
"From my experience a lot of it
comes from your family background. I never got embroiled in the whole mess of
it," he says.
Ìý
And the chance he may return to the UK for a West End stage
debut?
Ìý
"I'd love to. It's something I've never done . I'm always looking for
different roles; after The Lord of the Rings, that's become amplified," he says.
Ìý
He also
reveals he is often mistaken for Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, about to
open in Equus.
Ìý
"I applaud him, it takes a lot of bravery [when] you have all
that weight on your shoulders," says Elijah.
Ìý
And when Graham is teased by Kim about one of his comments on sleeping with women
("yeuch!" says Graham - "don't knock it" says Kim), he reveals that he has
- "several, actually . I was a whore!"
