Legendary foes the Daleks to battle The Doctor in the Big Apple
The most famous Doctor Who nemeses, the Daleks, are to battle The Doctor in a
special two-part story set in Thirties New York...

They are to feature in
episodes four and five of the forthcoming third series of the Bafta award-winning 91Èȱ¬ One drama.
Ìý
David Tennant as The Doctor and new companion Freema Agyeman, who plays medical student
Martha Jones, will be joined in this story by Desperate Housewives actor
Ryan Carnes, Miranda Raison, star of 91Èȱ¬ One spy drama Spooks, and Holby City
favourite Hugh Quarshie.

The story is written by Helen Raynor and directed by James Strong, who also
directed episodes eight and nine of series two.

The production team has recently confirmed further casting details for series
three, including Dean Lennox Kelly, Mark Gatiss and Anne Reid.

Martha's family will include Trevor Laird, who will be playing her dad Clive, and Adjoa Andoh as Francine, Martha's mum. Gugu Mbatha-Raw plays her
sister Tish and DJ Reggie Yates appears as her brother.

The new series of Doctor Who is scheduled to air in spring 2007.

Writers for Doctor Who series three include Russell T Davies, Steven Moffat,
Gareth Roberts, Paul Cornell, Helen Raynor, Chris Chibnall and Stephen
Greenhorn.

The directors include Charles Palmer, Euros Lyn, Graeme Harper and
Richard Clarke.

The producer is Phil Collinson; Executive producers are Head of Drama, 91Èȱ¬
Wales, Julie Gardner and Russell T Davies.
