Strictly Come Dancing - The Final

It's been filled with shocks, surprises, triumphs and tears from the start and it's set to be a sensational Saturday night as the fourth series of Strictly Come Dancing on 91Èȱ¬ One comes to a climax.

Ìý

World Cup-winning rugby player Matt Dawson goes head to head with former England cricketer Mark Ramprakash at 5.40pm tomorrow (23 December).

Ìý

The standard from the beginning has been incredibly high and it's anyone's guess who will win.

Ìý

For the second time there are two sports men in the final - last year saw Darren Gough and Colin Jackson go head to head.

Ìý

Matt and Mark have spent the last week cramming in as many hours training as possible in a bid to win the coveted title of Strictly Come Dancing Champion 2006.

Ìý

For the final show both men will be dancing a staggering five dances: their favourite ballroom and Latin dances of the series, a judge's choice where both couples will dance to the same piece of music chosen by the judges, a Viennese Waltz with both couples performing at the same time, and a brand new show dance.

Ìý

For their favourite dances, Mark will be performing the Tango and the Salsa and Matt will be performing the Waltz and the Samba.

Ìý

All the Strictly Come Dancing couples from the series will be returning to perform their favourite dance once again.

Ìý

Host Bruce Forsyth said: "The last five weeks have been the most exciting as all the dancers have been so good. It's been incredible not knowing who will go and who will stay.

Ìý

"I am always amazed at the standard of the dancers throughout all of the series but somehow this year has been exceptional."

Ìý

Co-host Tess Daly said: "What has been so compelling about this series of Strictly Come Dancing is the fact the standard of the dancing has been higher than ever before.

Ìý

"This is going to be the final to end all finals, because no one can predict who is going to win it. It's all down to who performs most spectacularly on the night. It's going to be dynamite."

Ìý

The Strictly Come Dancing final transmits on 91Èȱ¬ One at 5.40pm with the results show at 9.30pm.
