Nigella Lawson talks turkey with Jonathan Ross
TV foodie queen Nigella Lawson makes a
return visit to Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on 91Èȱ¬ One tonight to tell Jonathan about her views on
Christmas, food and being a curvy woman.
Ìý
Nigella's latest television incarnation - 91Èȱ¬ Two's
Nigella's Christmas Kitchen - explores the pleasures of festive eating.
Ìý
"There's nothing I hate more than people who think they're too chic for Christmas,"
she says.
Ìý
"You've got to have turkey, the best ingredients for stuffing are bacon,
onions, apples, eggs... and ginger cake."
Ìý
She also talks about her kind of food and her celebrity status.
Ìý
"I like plain food,
you don't need anything special... one of the things that panics me is people who
come round [to dinner] and think they're going to get something great... but I'm not
a chef," she says.
Ìý
Nigella describes her kind of Christmas as "traditional - family rows and too much food!"
Ìý
And
on vegetarians she says: "My grandmother thought vegetarians shouldn't accept invitations to
dinner! I converted a vegetarian on my last series, I felt a glimmering of pride... [personally] I don't mind what I eat."
Ìý
She also talks about being happy with her body image: "I've never met a doughnut I
didn't like, [my favourite] is sugar on the outside, jam in the middle...
Ìý
"We're all
worrying endlessly, it's relaxing to think I don't have to fight the fight any more,
life is so much rosier."
Ìý
Jonathan also welcomes to the show The Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood and
Perrier comedy award-winning stand-up and actor Dylan Moran.
Ìý
And there's music from Glasgow-based
band The Fratellis, performing new single Whistle for the Choir live in the studio.
Ìý
A Hotsauce TV/Open Mike production for 91Èȱ¬ One.
