Jamiroquai, Fatboy Slim and Basement Jaxx
added to Electric Proms line-up
|
Today the 91Èȱ¬ unveils the latest names to be added to the line-up for the inaugural 91Èȱ¬ Electric Proms.
Ìý
The festival is dedicated to creating new moments in music and takes place from 25 to 29 October at the Roundhouse and satellite venues all over Camden, London.
Ìý
Each of these new acts will be going back to their roots to bring audiences performances of, or inspired by, their early classic work.
Ìý
Jamiroquai - Jazz Café, Wednesday 25 October
Ìý
Ahead of the release of Jamiroquai's Greatest Hits, quick-stepping British funk star Jay Kay returns to the Jazz Cafe for the first time in 14 years for a unique Electric Proms performance.
Ìý
The tiny gig will see the band revisiting their groundbreaking debut album Emergency on Planet Earth that shot them to stardom back in 1993.
Ìý
Fatboy Slim - Secret Pub, Camden, Friday 27 October
Ìý
Fatboy Slim is an artist used to headlining huge festivals and heralding the sunrise with thousands of sun-kissed clubbers.
Ìý
But for Electric Proms he's about to embark on one of his smallest and most intimate gigs ever - in a pub in Camden.
Ìý
He'll be taking the audience of around 100 people right back to his early DJ days in Brighton, with an outstanding set of classic tracks from his early career - and showing the lucky few that make it in what has made him one of the UK's most exciting DJs.

Basement Jaxx presents The Crazy Itch Club - KOKO, Sunday 29 October
Ìý
After hosting the legendary Rooty and Inside Out club nights in some of Brixton's scruffiest hostelries - while simultaneously conquering the charts, airwaves and festivals around the world - Basement Jaxx don their party promoter hats once more for Electric Proms.
Ìý
Ahead of their stadium tour in December, Felix and Simon are going back to their club roots to create a one-night only residence at KOKO in Camden titled The Crazy Itch Club, featuring the itchiest, scratchiest array of talent alongside the Jaxx themselves. It promises to be a night to remember.
Ìý
In addition, other artists already confirmed to perform at Electric Proms are:
Ìý
The Good, The Bad and The Queen (the new project from Damon Albarn with Paul Simonon, Tony Allen and Simon Tong) and Godfather of Soul James Brown, who'll be treating fans to swinging soul and jazz-flavoured standards.
Ìý
Legendary rockers The Who will give a one-off premiere of their rock opera Wire & Glass and there will also be music from Mercury-nominated Guillemots, emerging star Jamie T, and calypso legend Young Tiger and the London is the Place for Me All Stars.
