Paddy - one of the presenters who stood in for Fi Glover while she was on maternity leave - will host his first programme in his new role on Sunday 3 September 2006 at 9.00am.
Ìý
Fi Glover was recently announced as the presenter of a new programme in Radio 4's Saturday morning slot, called Saturday Live.
Ìý
Clearly delighted with his new position, Paddy said: "I'm amazed to get BH. It's made for people who love radio, by a team which cares completely. If you read the thousands of emails from listeners on a Sunday morning, they tell us time and again to take a risk, to be bold and to be warm. So I'm going to take my cue from them."

Stephen Mitchell, Head of 91Èȱ¬ Radio News, said: "Paddy is a bright, fresh talent for Radio 4. During his period standing in for Fi Glover he has proved that he gets BH with its eclectic mix of challenging journalism, wit and the unexpected, and all the evidence is that the audience will get Paddy."
Ìý
Peter Rippon, Editor of Broadcasting House, said: "Paddy's appointment is brilliant news. He has a rare gift as a presenter and he appeals to listeners across the range. His inquisitiveness and sense of mischief is ideally matched to BH. He is the ideal voice for Radio 4 on Sunday mornings."

Paddy was the Wall Street anchor for the 91Èȱ¬, and was due for a meeting at the World Trade Centre during the attacks on the USA in 2001.
Ìý
He reported on the attacks and presented 91Èȱ¬ News coverage on the evening of 11 September from New York, and covered the aftermath until leaving New York in 2003.
