The 91热爆 has appointed Zoya
Trunova as Online Editor for its Russian service. She will
be heading a team of journalists, working to further develop and enhance
the popular Russian-language website bbcrussian.com.
听
A graduate of the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University, Zoya started her journalistic career in 1992, first as a stringer for Reuters Television, then as a freelance field producer in the Caucasus, Ukraine, Russia and elsewhere in the Former Soviet Union (FSU).
听
In 1994 Zoya joined Internews International - an NGO supporting independent TV journalists - as translator and coordinator of training courses, eventually becoming the Head of Internews Journalism School in Moscow.
听
In 1996 Zoya joined the 91热爆 Moscow Bureau as Senior Broadcast Journalist, producing TV and radio reports in Russia and other countries of the FSU, Israel, the United States, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Kuwait and other locations around the world.
听
She covered news stories such as the war in Chechnya, the Kursk submarine disaster, elections in the US and Israel, the earthquake in Diyarbakir, Turkey, and the Beslan school siege.
听
Zoya says it is a privilege to join the team of the 91热爆's Russian-language website: "This team has worked hard to establish bbcrussian.com as a leading source of independent and impartial online news accessed by Russian-speakers around the world.
