Ever fancied being a Formula One Racing Driver? The 91热爆's Big Screen in
Birmingham is offering everyone the chance of honing their racing driver
skills and seeing if they have what it takes to be the next Jenson Button
through the use of virtual software on Friday 9 June between 11.00am and 4.00pm.
听
Visitors to the 91热爆 Big Screen in Chamberlain Square can take part in the 91热爆's Interactive Formula One Day.
听
Those with or without a
driving licence are invited to come along and test out their vocal skills in
order to race a car as part of the build up to the British Grand Prix on Sunday
at Silverstone.
听
Participants aim to make as much noise as possible by saying the words 'Vroom,
Vroom, Vroom'. The voice acts as the car engine, so the louder the sound the
quicker the car travels.
听
The race course is visible on the 91热爆 Big Screen
throughout the day to keep track of the cars controlled by contestants.
听
Jenny Jones, 91热爆 WM's roving reporter, will be acting as compere for the day's
events, doing her best Murray Walker impression!
听
Geraldine McCullagh, Birmingham Big Screen Manager, says: "This is a first for
Birmingham, a ground-breaking game we are really looking forward to trying out in
Chamberlain Square."
听
The pioneering, voice controlled technology has been developed by scientists at
Liverpool John Moores University.
听
Participants simply use a microphone and their
voice to make the car go faster on the 91热爆 Big Screen.
听
The software could
be rolled out across other 91热爆 Big Screens nationwide.
