I didn't want to come back to tv, Noel Edmonds tells Jonathan Ross
Noel Edmonds reveals he nearly missed out on the
year's greatest comeback story when he meets Jonathan Ross tonight on 91Èȱ¬ ONE.
Ìý
A veteran of 91Èȱ¬ hits like Swap Shop and Noel's House Party, Noel admits about his new Channel 4 show: "I
turned down Deal or No Deal because contrary to some tabloid reports I wasn't
sitting in a dark room praying for the phone to win.
Ìý
"I'm very happy with my
life. I didn't want to come back to TV. Now I have nightmares that this success
could have been experienced by someone else.
Ìý
"[Deal or No Deal] is very honest
and open, you can't manipulate it like some quiz shows I could mention. It's
like life."
Ìý
Noel Edmonds also talks on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross about his original broadcast ambitions.
Ìý
He says: "I just wanted to be
in radio. I sent a tape to Kenny Everett, my hero . he was a genius, fantastic,
mad like Milligan. Ìý
"One of the things we don't have now is the apprenticeship
that would allow the next Kenny Everett to start."
Ìý
And on his belief in the art of positive thinking: "Cosmic Ordering isn't loony and it isn't a cult, it's about positive thought.
It's a faith that says 'I'm allowed to be happy'."
Ìý
Jonathan also welcomes to the show Celebrity Big Brother's Preston
and Chantelle who talk about their forthcoming marriage.
Ìý
Preston says: "We're really trying to get a venue
we like, we want something 1930s, stylish, classy ... I want to have as few celebrities
there as possible."
Ìý
Chantelle adds: "We're hooked on Arundel Castle
... I'd like to get married in a castle, with a horse and carriage."
Ìý
Completing this week's line-up is Jon Bon Jovi, about to embark on his
latest stadium tour of the UK, and there's music from Keane performing their new
single Is It Any Wonder live in the studio.
Ìý
