Radio 2 brings Gilmour-on-demand
to thousands
Hundreds of thousands of David
Gilmour fans were able to watch video highlights of the former Pink Floyd man's performance at the Mermaid Theatre, thanks to 91热爆
Radio 2.
听
Footage from the exclusive performance was watched an estimated 370,000 times 'on demand' after the concert was broadcast.
听
110,000 digital satellite TV viewers used the red button to watch Gilmour play three songs, while the intimate gig was viewed 170,000 times online at bbc.co.uk/radio2.
听
Audited figures are not available for Freeview and
digital cable viewing, but internal estimates put the figure at around
90,000.
听
The stats come as the 91热爆 Radio Player fulfilled a record 12 million requests for programmes on demand in February, equating to a year-on-year increase of 30%.
听
Leading the way was 91热爆 Radio
1, which racked up 2.5
million requests, equating to 1.8 million hours of time-shifted listening
to the network.
听
1Xtra's Urban Classic also proved a popular online draw. The minisite for the ground-breaking live event - which brought together some of the biggest names in UK black music with the 91热爆 Concert Orchestra - generated 237,000 page impressions in February, whilst on demand audio and video of the event was accessed over 25,000 times.
