Gavin, famous for his immaculate grooming on and off the pitch, confirms on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross that his relationship with Charlotte Church is set to last.

Ìý

"She's had a difficult life with the paparazzi," Gavin says, "we're good for each other, it's really good. She'd love to [get married] . maybe we will then.

Ìý

"I hope she'll ask me, but I suppose I'd better do it .. we'd love a family together."

Ìý

He also reveals his pre-match prepping includes "two hours to get ready: hot bath, shave my legs and face [waxing? "No, I can't do that!"], moisturise, put fake tan on and do my hair .. which takes a bit of time .

Ìý

"I need my fellow players to say I'm looking good, I need it for my confidence, it gives you a boost .

Ìý

"I don't want Charlotte to do mine [legs], she can concentrate on her own. Mine are smoother than hers!"

Ìý

On the eve of his 80th birthday Sir David Attenborough, currently narrating 91Èȱ¬ ONE's Planet Earth, joins Jonathan.

Ìý

He reveals his strange taste in food: "Caterpillars are good, big ones, I recommend them - they taste like twiglets."

Ìý

And one of the weirdest locations he ha's visited: "A cave, 30 years ago, one of the most disgusting places. There was a shimmering curtain at the end, a mountain of bat droppings covered in a solid carpet of cockroaches, eating it."

Ìý

Sir David also talks about his views on religion and evolution: "The complexity of the natural world exists because of organic evolution. I find this much more profoundly moving than a story about the first woman and man .. in my view that is a myth."

Ìý

Jonathan also welcomes to the show punk pop princess Pink who talks about turning down royalty when she didn't perform at Prince William's 21st birthday party.

Ìý

She says: "I'd heard he was publicising a hunting trip in Africa and I found that very offensive. I am unconditionally an animal lover. I heard his father was going to write me a letter but I'm still waiting."

Ìý

She also performs her new single Stupid Girls live in the studio.

Ìý

Friday Night with Jonathan Ross is tonight (Friday 24 Match 2006) at 10.40pm on 91Èȱ¬ ONE.
