In a landslide result, viewers voted Daz Sampson singing Teenage Life to represent the UK at Eurovision 2006 in Athens on 20 May.

Daz is the first rapper to represent the UK at Eurovision since Love City Groove over a decade ago.

Daz is previously known as the man behind Bus Stop - who had a hit single with Kung Fu Fighting featuring Carl Douglas - and is one half of hit dance act Uniting Nations.
Ìý
Daz co-wrote his Eurovision winner Teenage Life with long term collaborator John Matthews.

Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up was presented on 91Èȱ¬ ONE by Sir Terry Wogan and Natasha Kaplinsky with a celebrity panel of judges - Jonathan Ross, Kelly Osbourne, Ferne Cotton and Bruno Toniolli.

The voting method for the programme followed the class Eurovision point system and involved seven regions around the UK.

Each region was represented by a special celebrity guest who announced the votes for their region - Michelle McManus for Scotland, Maggot for Wales, Roy Walker for Northern Ireland, Kelli Young for the North of England, Rustie Lee for the Midlands, Alistair Appleton for London and Simon Grant for the South West.
