91Èȱ¬ Southern Counties Radio is pleased to announce its new presenter line-up for Sussex.
Ìý
The radio station's current Managing Editor Neil Pringle is returning to the microphone to present the Sussex Breakfast Show.
Ìý
Entertainer Gordon Astley is back on the mid-morning show after a gap of ten years, while talk show host Tommy Boyd will present in the afternoon.
Ìý
Richard Lindfield moves from Southern FM to host the evening news programme for Sussex.
Ìý
Richard Lindfield says: "I'm looking forward to starting tremendously. I have had a fantastic time with Southern FM but I really can't say no to what the 91Èȱ¬ is offering.
Ìý
"It seems the perfect time to return to Southern Counties Radio as the station is coming back to Brighton."
Ìý
91Èȱ¬ Southern Counties Radio also confirms that its headquarters are moving back to Brighton, where they will provide more programmes for Sussex listeners along with more local news and travel bulletins.
Ìý
Bosses at the 91Èȱ¬ are confident that the new line-up will be popular when people get the opportunity to listen to the new shows from Monday 3 April.

The re-launch sees a move of the newsroom and more programme teams to the Brighton headquarters.
Ìý
Mike Hapgood, 91Èȱ¬ Regional Head of Programmes, believes the changes are good for listeners in Sussex.

He says: "We're increasing our investment in news and programmes. There'll be more staff working from our headquarters in Brighton and better news coverage for Sussex."
Ìý
The weekend line-up includes a new golden oldies show featuring former pirate radio DJ Dave Cash.
Ìý
The exclusive sports commentaries of Brighton and Hove Albion continue along with outspoken sports phone-in host Ian Hart.

Award-winning presenter Neil Pringle is looking forward to his move back to programmes.

He says: "I've enjoyed running the radio station for 18 months but my heart is really at the sharp end of the station.

"We aim to make the Breakfast Show essential listening in Sussex.
Ìý
"I know some listeners have had reservations about the scale of the changes but they'll have to judge us by what they hear - and I think they'll be pleasantly surprised!"

Former 91Èȱ¬ Southern Counties Editor Neil Pringle has been presenting radio shows on the station for the past 12 years.

His mid-morning programme won best interactive programme at The Local Radio Awards and Neil won a Silver in the BT journalism awards.

Little known fact: Neil has a twin brother, Keith, who is Managing Director of Capital Radio in London.

What's the show about? The breakfast show is the essential mix of local news, weather, travel and sport. We'll talk to people making the news in Sussex and give listeners the chance to talk back.

Gordon Astley, award-winning radio host, has been in the business of entertaining, informative radio for 30 years.
Ìý
When Chris Tarrant left Tiswas in the Eighties, it was Gordon to whom the producers turned to take over the popular Saturday morning TV show.
Ìý
When not behind the microphone Gordon is a motivational speaker, an expert at handwriting analysis and a member of the Magic Circle.
Ìý
Little known fact: in his spare time Gordon plays the washboard!

What's the show about? Gordon will be sorting out listeners' problems, taking calls on the day's talking points and meeting the big names visiting the area.

Tommy Boyd has been described as one of the most original and thought-provoking presenters on the radio.

He was one of the original staff at Talk Radio but his career started at the former 91Èȱ¬ Radio Brighton while he was studying at the University of Sussex.
Ìý
He's also well known as a TV presenter, hosting Magpie and The Wide Awake Club on ITV.
Ìý
Little known fact: as well as a radio jockey, he's also been a racing jockey, he once come third at Cheltenham racecourse.

What's the show about? His new afternoon show will include fascinating facts, a good argument and old favourites like the return of the Wonderful Hour.

4.00-7.00pm Drivetime with Richard Lindfield
Ìý
Richard Lindfield has been covering the news in Sussex for the past 20 years, at the 91Èȱ¬ and on Southern FM.
Ìý
He was a news reporter and Sports Editor at 91Èȱ¬ Radio Sussex in the Eighties covering the IRA bombing of the Grand Hotel, the Great Storm of 1987 and the Albion at Wembley.

When 91Èȱ¬ Southern Counties Radio was looking for a presenter for the new Sussex Drivetime show Richard was an obvious choice.
Ìý
But it's not all news in his life - Richard enjoys directing theatre productions in his spare time.
Ìý
Little known fact: Richard's wife Emma gave birth to their son Freddie just over a year ago. He's getting good at changing nappies now.
Ìý
What's the show about? Richard will round up what's been happening in Sussex during the day, meeting the big names visiting Brighton.
